Archer

Archer

History[ | ]

The bow and arrow, invented in prehistoric times, greatly improved the hunting skills of early man that allowed him to kill his targets from a distance. The bow was adapted for use in battle and was first used by Egyptian, Persian, and Assyrian armies as early as 5000 BC. The range gave by the bow allowed small forces of archers to rout armies of superior numbers of hand-to-hand weapons. Archers were often used to soften enemy resistance before they would send in their mounted or skirmish forces.

General Information[ | ]

Tips[ | ]

  • Archers are the most important troop to have. A large archer army is almost impossible to beat, as they outrange everything but siege weapons.
    • For example, when attacking a level 1-3 valley, or valleys with only foot troops and no archers, you can use 150 archers to attack without taking any casualties.

Uses[ | ]

  • 350 archers with lvl 5 archery, lvl 3 military tradition, 75 attack hero vs. a level 4 forest (184 warriors, 41 archers, no hero) incurred 33 losses.
  • 476 archers with lvl 6 archery, lvl 5 military tradition, 77 attack hero vs. a level 4 flat (102 pikemen, 68 archers, lvl 9 hero) incurred 26 losses.
  • 662 archers with lvl 6 archery, lvl 5 military tradition, 78 attack hero vs. a level 4 flat (102 pikemen, 68 archers, lvl 9 hero) incurred 26 losses.
  • 360 archers with lvl 6 archery, lvl 3 military tradition, 76 attack hero vs. a level 5 hill (557 warriors, 126 archers, no hero) incurred 189 losses.
  • 10 archers are about the same as 1 archer tower, so you need a large amount (100k-150k) to take down a city with a full lvl 9 or 10 wall.
