The main motive of the game is to gain PRESTIGE. Prestige is an in game stat that deals mainly with player rank and alliance rank. The higher prestige you have the higher you rank on your server. If you are in an alliance, your prestige is added, along with the rest of the alliance member's prestige together. The higher this number, the higher your alliance ranks.
Prestige is gained by constructing buildings or defensive fortifications, doing academic research, training troops, and fighting. The higher level building you build, or upgrade, and the higher level area you attack, the more prestige you gain. Prestige from constructing buildings, doing academic research, or troop training is calculated by first calculating experience, and then dividing experience by the total number of town hall levels you have, remembering to drop the decimal portion of any number (always round down). So if you have three cities, and the town halls are levels 1, 3, and 9, (1 + 3 + 9 = 13) then you would divide experience from a particular item by 13, and drop the fractional portion to figure how much prestige you gain from that item.Prestige can also be gained by doing comfortings, specially praying and blessing. You can also gain prestige by attacking level 5 NPC's with 374 ballistas, 450 transporters and 3K warriors.
Making sure that each city you own has a Mayor also helps in increasing the Prestige indirectly by providing more resources and speeding construction time, academic research time, and troop training time.
Note: table is incomplete as it does not show the total number of town hall levels. It was created by mere observance during creation of certain items, before the equation for raw resource cost or experience was discovered, and before the exact relation between experience and prestige was discovered. All pages on this site will be updated in the coming weeks with the calculated raw resource cost.
